Minister Arreaza: The communal is sown, cultivated, and harvested

Lara, April 20, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – According to the People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, communal power is the alternative to transform the civilization model.

During the second pedagogical day of the Decolonial School Commune or Nothing, on Thursday in Barquisimeto, Lara state, Arreaza commented that the construction of the communes is for all America.

“Practically, there is an alternative to continue living. It seems that we are clearing it in America, especially in Venezuela: the commune”, he expressed from the headquarters of the School for Strengthening the People’s Power in the capital of Lara.

In this sense, the Minister of Communes emphasized that the Bolivarian Revolution’s struggle is for life and, it can only be achieved with a change of values, with a new life in the community.

“If we do not achieve a cultural change, anything that emerges will not be communal. We must always be willing to learn and unlearn. It is necessary to go beyond the communal state. We must build new forms of relationships… Only in this way can we generate a communal ‘society'”, he asserted.

For the head of the Communes portfolio, it is key to change the ways of living in the territory. “If we do not transform our essence, in the root, we will not be a commune. The communal thing is sown, cultivated, and harvested. The commune must be above pettiness and work with pedagogy to build a new life and model; with respect for Mother Earth. The commune is a priority!” he stressed.

Arreaza insisted that each State institution must ensure the recognition of communal power and accompany the strengthening of community life. “Only in this way will we be the alternative in the face of the crisis of the dominant civilizational model. We must advance with unity in the communal project to achieve absolute harmony”, he added.
