Barinas, May 24, 2023 (Press Mincomunas) – This Wednesday, representatives of the Ministries of Planning and for the Communes and Social Movements visited and toured the Agrosustainable Communal Council Las Cayenas and the Integral Productive Farm School (GEIP) “Los Sueños del Comandante Chavez 2”, in the Obispos municipality of Barinas state.
“We came to see and share what they are doing and how they are doing it to continue strengthening the Farm, the Communal Councils, and the Commune”, explained Lidice Altuve, president of the People’s Power Strengthening School Foundation.
Likewise, Diego Tangarife, facilitator and spokesperson for the Farm, spoke about the experience and achievements of the project.
“The Farm is eight years old, and, as a school, it has only been around for a few months. The work we do is based on innovation and popular ingenuity. It helps us to acquire techniques that allow them to increase their productive capacity with an agroecological approach. We work on microbiological broths used for agriculture and the balanced production feed for animals with organic products,” he explained.
The Community Council is composed of 92 families, and 42 of them have been training and developing their agroecological production processes through the support and training of the Farm School. They have agricultural and livestock products such as coffee, Musaceae, fruit trees, medicinal plants, yucca, yellow corn and Cariaco corn, pigs, broiler chickens, and laying hens.
Tour of the production areas
During the visit, there was a tour of the Farm’s production areas, so those responsible for each process could explain the methods and projections for the medium term.
The spokespersons also took the opportunity to present the critical issues, emphasizing the deficiencies of the electricity service in the area.
The community leaders requested the support of the competent authorities to upload the electric system project to the Integration and Communication System (SINCO) of the Federal Council of Government.
Developing a Map of Solutions
This Wednesday, May 31, at 2:30 pm, there will be a meeting to elaborate on the Map of Solutions and the Concrete Action Agenda to continue strengthening and accompanying the work.
The spokespersons will also be uploaded to SINCO to comply with the requirements for the project financing of “Completion and construction of an animal feed mixing machine.”
