Caracas, November 10, 2023 (Mincomunas Press). – With the slogan “5 times yes”, spokespersons of the Communal Councils of the Capital District and Miranda went this Friday to the facilities of the National Electoral Council (CNE) supporting the celebration of the Referendum for the Defense of the Essequibo, scheduled for December 3.

Roxana Odreman, spokeswoman of the Jose Luis Guillen Communal Council in the Sucre Parish of the Libertador municipality, expressed her gratitude and respectful greetings to the authorities of the electoral body.

In her speech, she highlighted the vital significance of the Referendum to preserve the Essequibo, highlighting the biological, water, and natural wealth present in this vast region that historically belongs to Venezuela.

“Because who else than us, our Communal Councils, that day by day walk our territory to understand the defense of the national territory? We are here today in this sacred space of the CNE to vindicate our historical patriotic thread since Bolivar, since our independence”, he exclaimed.

Andris Fruto, a representative of the Robert Serra Commune in Petare, Miranda, took the floor to highlight the active participation of the Communal Councils following the Venezuelan Constitution and laws.

He highlighted that more than 1 million 600 thousand spokespersons were reelected and summoned to exercise their right to vote on December 3.

“For independence and peace,” highlighted Fruto, evidencing the strong popular support for this initiative.

He emphasized a moral, spiritual, and original constituent commitment to the defense of the Essequibo territory.

He underlined that they were called by a “deep commitment with the homeland, a commitment that drives them to be more loyal than their commitments.”
