Minister Arreaza: The communal people are at the front line of resistance in Venezuela

Caracas, October 27, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – This Friday, the People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, assured that the communal farmers of Venezuela are capable of giving their lives for the Bolivarian revolutionary project because they faithfully believe that it is possible to transform the imposed model through collective work and community organization.

“Undoubtedly, the communards are the most particular social subjects that the Bolivarian revolution has because they are irreverent; they are committed and want to transform the processes. They do not allow anything to be imposed. They know the needs of their territories and work on solutions. The people of the communes are at the front line of resistance in Venezuela. They were the ones who were in charge of bringing out the production so that the people did not die of hunger during the hardest years of the Venezuelan crisis and the pandemic”, he said.

During his participation in the radio program “En Clave Comunal,” broadcasted by Radio Nacional de Venezuela, Minister Arreaza explained that, with the Rudder Around (Golpe de Timon), the communes took their rightful place as the strategic project of Venezuela where they can build Bolivarian socialism.

“Eleven years after the Rudder Around (Golpe de Timon), the Commander made it very clear: it is in the commune, in the communal territory, where we can change the model. We can invest and change the values of capitalism, selfishness, and exploitation for the values of joint work, solidarity, understanding, and comprehension in the communal project. This government makes a socialist revolution, and socialism is in the communes. Chavez’s strategic project will always be pending. We have advanced, but we still have a long way to go. Before leaving, Chavez left us a clear course with the Rudder Around (Golpe de Timon). When President Maduro sees that we are deviating due to different situations, he turns the rudder, and we follow the correct course”, he manifested.

For the Minister of Communes, Jorge Arreaza, the construction of socialism does not have a beginning or an end. It is a process of creating and working permanently to generate collective welfare.

“It is fundamental that the people understand that it is the government. Where the commune exists and works, people are happier; there are fewer problems. Let’s bet hard on the commune! If we can self-govern, why do we have to depend on a mayor or a governor’s office to do something that generates well-being in the community? There is much we can do with our capacities, with organization, with the union of all. I invite you. Do not leave this to others. Unite. Join the communal project, join and govern. Everyone must hold the spokesmen and spokeswomen accountable. We must connect. We must believe communal power is the most important power in a revolutionary democracy. The communal power is more important than the national and regional public power. He emphasized that we must be part of it to give it the definitive strength!”

In this sense, the People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, pointed out that the next steps to follow involve the culmination of the renewal process of all communal councils and communes in the country, as well as the expansion of communal economic circuits in all territories.

“We are going to give the economy to the people! The people own the lands and productive processes. Our duty as institutionality is to provide them with the means of production, training, advice, equipment, and financing to achieve the goals. The communal economic circuits must multiply with our help. The State must turn around and put itself at the service of the communal power; all government levels must sit down to solve the problems and needs of the people but listen to their spokespersons; with the union of the cabinets of communal government, with technical work tables”, pointed out Arreaza.
