Communal Cabinets constitute a new model of government management

Caracas, October 20, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – Friday, on the occasion of the commemoration of Commander Chavez’s 11th anniversary of his Rudder Around (Golpe de Timon), a massive event took place at the Poliedro de Caracas, with the participation of more than 12,000 spokespersons of the Communal Councils and Communes of the country.

During the activity, Alejandra Borges, spokeswoman of the Carlos Escarra Commune in the Niño Jesus sector, El Limon parish, Aragua state, explained to President Nicolas Maduro the significance of the work they have carried out thanks to the People’s Government System, which involves the articulation of the four levels of government: national, state, municipal and communal.

“We work with the survey of the social mapping and the Concrete Action Agenda (ACA) where critical knots and potentialities of each territory characterize. The community members are the ones who survey to guarantee the possible solutions to the most felt problems in our community”, commented the community leader.

According to this System, 125 Cabinets of Communal Government have been installed in the country, involving 4,667 Communal Councils.

“We have 16,167 spokespersons who actively participate […] 18 states, 63 municipalities, and 139 parishes are participating; based on that, we have a map that shows us that there are more than 9,000 priorities defined in the ACAs of the 1X10 of Good Government”, detailed Borges.

He also presented the successful experiences achieved in the parish of El Limon in Aragua state. “Thanks to the transfer of competencies we managed to advance in two projects in sanitation and lighting. It has been with work and organization, with the support of the community that has believed in us and the institutions that have provided us with their knowledge and have trained us to continue guaranteeing the community’s wellbeing”.

In response, President Nicolas Maduro stressed the need to continue advancing and integrating local, municipal, regional, and national powers. “One hundred and twenty-five Cabinets of Communal Government have already been installed in as many municipalities. We have the short-term goal […] to install the 335 Cabinets of Communal Government in the 335 municipalities of the country to continue advancing in territorial government.”

The President called on all the ministries and institutions of the State to work and be at the service of the Communal Councils and the Cabinets of Government. “The electricity technical tables, the Bricomiles, Barrio Adentro, the Ministries of Water, Food, University Education, Fishing and Agriculture, the Venezuela Housing Mission and Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor Venezuela have to reach the communal level, resume self-construction, plan not from the ministry but from the territory, with the people empowered and organized,” he instructed.
