Coffee growers and Lara’s Communes will strengthen productive alliances

Lara, September 23, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – This Friday, the Rafael Enrique Colmenares Communal Economic Circuit, at the Andres Eloy Blanco municipality in Lara state, held an assembly to discuss data of interest regarding future alliances between coffee growers, Cafe Venezuela and the People’s Power Ministry of Communes and Social Movements.

The meeting that took place in Sanare counted the participation of the Vice-Minister of Communal Economy, Hernan Vargas, and representatives of the People’s Power Ministry for Planning and Corpolara, who learned about the works for the construction of the CEC, achievements, and needs.

During the assembly, Vice Minister Vargas intervened and emphasized that this must be the year of Communal Power and informed about the refinancing agreement signed with Cafe Cardenal Coffee Roaster, indicating that they plan to make the same alliance with Cafe Venezuela because, even though “we will get into a dynamic with difficulties,” we must reaffirm the Communes’ cent and the “Hecho en Comuna” products.

These actions constitute an effort on behalf of the People’s Power Ministry for the Communes and Social Movements and the Venezuelan Coffee Corporation. However, first of all, it is necessary to “transfer as much means as possible to the Communes” through the orientation of the management models in which the Commune can participate and orient itself in the industrial means,” emphasized Hernan Vargas.

The intervention of the Vice-Minister helped inform about the significance of the Communes, which should have an essential role in the whole liaison process between both institutions, the main idea being that “the Communes can have their coffee production chain,” reaffirming that the only way to move forward is with “all government levels together.”

These assemblies make the power of the Communes visible as a government in the territories. However, to fully implement these agreements, it is necessary to carry out actions to reinvigorate the production plant, which “have been difficult due to the economic blockade, the investment of the Popular Power has decreased,” indicated Vargas, highlighting that the CECs are the priority, the activation of means of production of Hecho En Comunas and the strengthening of some projects of the articulation of the Cabinets of Communal Government.

The Cafe Venezuela plant will be relaunched

The meeting gathered representatives of the ministries and authorities of the Corporacion Venezolana del Cafe, having William Amaro, General Manager of the Corporation, as a speaker, indicating regarding the Cafe Venezuela headquarters that “we have always said that this should be the epicenter of all the activities of the Commune,” and mentioned that the raw material of the area should be processed in the plant to promote the local economy.

Popular organization through the Communes will be encouraged, not only through the relaunching of the production plant but also with the production and the whole process involved since the central purpose is to give back the actions through the alliances.

Tour to coffee plantations

On Friday, Vice Minister Vargas, along with spokespersons of the Vida Cafe CEC, visited two producers in Villa Nueva, who received inputs consisting of liquid and solid fertilizers delivered by the Federal Council of Government (CFG) so that their crops could obtain the potassium, nitrogen, and phosphorus necessary to have a productive harvest from now on.

These actions are part of the plan focused on coffee growers in the region, promoting local production and benefiting the land for a prosperous harvest, a new form of financing for the Communes.
