Lara, September 22, 2023 (Press MinComunas) – This Thursday, in the spirit of strengthening the Communal Economic Coffee Circuit, there was a meeting that took place at the Cardenal Coffee Roastery in Moran municipality, Lara state, where the spokespersons of four Circuits shared their experiences, goals and objectives from previous years.
The meeting counted the participation of the Vice Minister of Communal Economy, Hernan Vargas, and the intervention of the spokespersons of the CECs of the coffee region, such as Morelys Malvacias, from CEC Vida Cafe; Danny Mascareño, from CEC Cafe Aroma de Vida; Orlando Landaeta, from CEC Pueblo a Pueblo; Jose Luis Valera, from CEC Humocaro, and Carlos David Vargas, from the Semi-Arid Communal Economic Zone (ZEC).
During his speech, the Vice Minister acknowledged that “the only way to continue advancing in this new stage of transition to socialism is with the People’s Power, with the Communes,” affirming that building spaces for debate where the Communes and the Communal Councils are the authorities, are the ones that help to vindicate the Venezuelan socialism we wish to have.
Vargas, who affirmed that many Communes and Communal Councils “have shown their strength with greater organization, produced more, articulated more and resisted in different places,” also highlighted that thanks to the spaces of economy for life and permanent meeting, where all levels of government propose tasks to which they must give answers, the Communes have been able to advance, solidify and systematize their experiences.
Likewise, he indicated that in 2022, they started with nine CECs. However, due to the constant evolution, work, and struggle, there are currently 70 that are active throughout the country, which “group 303 Communes, close to 1,780 Communal Councils”, being Lara the communal capital of Venezuela, since it is the state where there are more Communes in the country.
The Vice Minister mentioned that one year after supporting the Communes of Lara State, they have evolved in favor of the “viable and possible communal management model,” which has been satisfactorily implemented thanks to the producer families of the area, becoming a model that has generated the conditions for economic recovery to support the health, education and public services sectors.
The agreement signed for production and distribution
Following the activity, after a cultural act by the “Escuela de Golpe Los Veteranos y las Veteranas,” the agreement was signed by representatives of the Cardenal Coffee Roasting Company, the CEC Vida Cafe, and the People’s Power Ministry for the Communes and Social Movements, the responsible authority being the Vice Minister Hernan Vargas.
The agreement reflects the alliance between the Communes and the Torrefactora to create links with the companies of the Constituted Power and the Constituent Power, being a significant agreement that will allow the production and distribution of Cafe Cardenal and Vida Café to produce social wealth for the benefit of the welfare of all, generating profits for the Communes and coffee producers.
Spokespersons of CEC Larenses recognized advances in economic matters
During the intervention of the spokespersons, the representative of the CEC Cafe Aroma de Vida, Danny Mascareño, highlighted they have focused on the coffee axis of two parishes with seven Communes and 77 Communal Councils to appropriate the tools that the Communes offer to the producing families, so that “they become our emblem, not that of the private company, but that of an employee born in the Communes, which becomes known in the territory,” thus reaching the food baskets of the families of El Tocuyo, which corresponds to a necessary action to promote the CECs.
The representative of the CEC Vida Cafe, Morelys Malvacias, emphasized that the work and unity have allowed Vida Café to fulfill its objectives for state production, being a circuit strengthened thanks to the grouping of eight Communes, which have implemented projects and obtained solutions, becoming a system of communal aggregation, where the coffee producing families are the ones who carry out the necessary process for the harvest and production of the item.
On the other hand, spokesman Carlos Vargas, from the Semi-Arid ZEC, added his experience to the meeting and informed that the CECs get easily promoted being the Semi-Arid zone of Lara that “has potential in goat and cattle production, which is extensively done,” he also mentioned that the locality has an aggregation of seven Communes and 76 Communal Councils.
The books that were presented at the Fundarte fair
In turn, the meeting provided a space to present “El Arte de Ponernos de Acuerdo,” “Balance y Desafios en la Construccion de una Economia para La Vida,” and the “Segundo Informe Periodico Sobre la Contribucion de las Economias Populares a la Soberania Alimentaria,” three texts exhibited at the 14th Caracas Book Fair.
The presentation of the books demonstrated the effort of the work tables, meetings, and systematizations carried out for the contribution and improvement of the Communes in the country.
