Caracas, September 20, 2023 (Press Mincomunas) – On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the different national spokespersons of the Economic Circuits (CEC) and the Communal Economic Zones (ZEC) to continue coordinating strategies to advance and consolidate the communal economy for life.
The meeting took place at the main headquarters of Fundacomunal in Caracas, where the Vice Minister of Communal Economy, Hernan Vargas, outlined the need to continue working together to achieve governance in the territory. “In the end, beyond what each communal circuit does, we are all betting on the same line. That is to say, we are all working to build this perspective that starts from building territorial socialism.”
Throughout the activity, the Vice Minister provided a balance of the number of Economic Circuits constituted to date: “According to the report that the states have delivered to us, until today, we have 74 Communal Economic Circuits that have activated throughout the country (…) which began with a route of conformation of circuits, where they discussed the meaning of economy for life, the characterization of each one of the circuits. The consultation happened in each Communal Council and Communes, and they installed planning tables to discuss what will be done and implemented as a circuit.”
In this order of ideas, the ministerial authority explained that these circuits held 654 assemblies, around 456 spokespersons activated, 303 Communes, 1,786 Communal Councils, and 13,858 producers linked.
On her part, Beatriz Romero, a spokeswoman for Miranda’s Textile Economic Circuit, informed that 24 assemblies have taken place in that state, distributed in the five axes of the entity, each one of which has six municipalities. “There are 200 Communal Councils involved, 21 Communes, 216 producers located in 54 production units, both family and social.”
Romero highlighted that thanks to the organization today, work is done collectively. “It is a humanized work, where there is a benefit for the workers. We are changing our way of working,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jose Lugo, a community leader of the Socialist Commune El Panal 2021, 23 de Enero parish in Caracas, commented that they are working on the catalog of garments to present for the communal baskets. “We will produce school uniforms and early fashion, which are the clothes we use daily, such as chemise, overalls, shoes, and clothes to work in agriculture that are resistant and comfortable.”
Also present at the meeting, Andris Fruto, spokesman of the Communal Economic Zone of the Plaza municipality of Miranda State, stated three active circuits in this geographic area. The zone has 17 Communes, 236 producers, 26 work assemblies held, and 39 community assemblies have taken place.
“In the swine circuit, we have 46 pigs for approximately four tons of processed pork. We have 326 fattening pigs and 46 mothers in the gestation process. We are working to make our economic zone successful and continue advancing in everything concerning production.”
Regarding the textile issue, he commented that they have 1,322 pieces ready for what has to do with the school plan. For next Saturday, they plan to carry out three communal fairs in which priority will be given to the 236 families of the circuit.
