Caracas, September 18, 2023 (Press Mincomunas) – This Monday, the People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, had a meeting with the president of Banco Bicentenario del Pueblo, de la Clase Obrera, Mujer y Comunas, Sergio Lotartaro, and his team, where they evaluated the collective credits granted to the Communal Economic Circuits and proposed a new stage in the financing of the productive initiatives of the People’s Power organized.

In addition, he highlighted that in the credits granted, communal actors showed efficiency in meeting their payment commitments. He also thanked the support shown by Lotartaro, recently appointed head of the financial institution.
Upon presidential mandate, Banco Bicentenario consolidated and strengthened a broad financing program for productive projects in the Communal Economic Circuits, formed in fields such as coffee, cocoa, sugar cane, corn, and potato, among others, as well as supporting other initiatives proposed by the Communal Councils and Communes, in their capacity as government in the territory.
Decree No. 4,850, published in Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,764, dated August 28, appointed Sergio Julio Lotartaro Tovar as President of Banco Bicentenario and of its Board of Directors, succeeding Simon Zerpa.
