The rescue and conservation plan for Lake Maracaibo strengthens with a sanitation day

Zulia, September 14, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – This Thursday, the Ministers for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, and for Ecosocialism, Josue Lorca, joined the People’s Power of Santa Rita municipality in Zulia state in a sanitation, awareness, and tree planting day in part of the eastern shore of Lake Maracaibo.

Before a community assembly, the event was part of the actions promoted by the Bolivarian Government within the framework of the plan instructed by President Nicolas Maduro for the lake’s recovery. With tropical almond trees planted on the El Rosario beach.

During the development of the assembly, the Minister for Ecosocialism thanked the community’s commitment to the recovery of the lake and detailed the actions carried out during the last weeks.

“We have been working for a real rescue of Lake Maracaibo, studying all the variants that affect it and in discussion with the People’s Power to elaborate a plan of six vertexes that enables the recovery of all the riches the lake possesses, which translates into a gigantic economy,” he explained.

For his part, Minister Arreaza oriented the people’s articulation with the different levels of government for the preservation of the lake.

“We are working permanently to control this initial situation and, subsequently, so that the people have the maintenance in their power and the oil company recovers its power and capacities,” he said.

He urged to solve the differences regarding the People’s Power’s role. “We will generate the nucleus capable of exercising power because of the four levels of government that exist; the communal one is the most important and has to be the source of quality in Venezuela, which is why we must be well organized as a component and at the height of the historical moment.”

“Our institutions are there to guarantee the common welfare. An example is the study being carried out in the lake to rehabilitate it integrally,” added.

The People’s Power spokespersons outlined the primary needs of the population. They proposed that the recovery process of the lake should serve as a guide for the “rescue” of the municipality.
