Boost to the communal government: “El Arte de Ponernos de Acuerdo” (The Art of Agreeing) christened at the Caracas Book Fair

Caracas, September 13, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – This Wednesday, within the framework of the 14th Caracas Book Fair, “El Arte de Ponernos de Acuerdo” by Felipe Garcia was christened, a literary work that will serve as a methodological reflection guide, being an expanded version of the edition published more than ten years ago.

The open door activity, which took place in the Andres Eloy Blanco hall of the Municipal Palace, included the presence of the People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza; the muralist, illustrator, and creator of the work, Felipe Garcia, and the Vice-Minister of the Communal Training System and Social Movements, Lidice Altuve.

The text is a methodological tool for community work, where the main idea is that “the meaning of living is in the service to others,” said Garcia, in addition to being an instrument that can be expanded and modified for the benefit of the communities.

“El Arte de Ponernos de Acuerdo” is a book that provides the communal government with a tool that should not only remain in the Communes but also be distributed and distributed to the country’s students, said Minister Arreaza. At the same time, he added that the work is a reflection that legitimizes and strengthens the leaders in the territory to govern, solve, and “build their method based on this proposal that I think is very enriching.”

During his speech, Arreaza affirmed that Venezuela has a “clear strength that does not exist in other countries, which is the Communal Council, the Commune,” as well as its Committees, which from now on will have a guide that helps them to move forward, accompanied by the Constituent Power, with the participatory and protagonist democracy.

The Minister emphasized that the keys to the Bolivarian Revolution are the People’s Power spokespersons and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, who are “pending to solve the community problems,” voluntarily working and mobilizing themselves to transform reality.

He highlighted that currently, the spokesperson elections of the Communal Councils have taken place throughout different states of the country, giving protagonist participation to the people who live in the communities since that is what socialism is all about, “the people’s organization for the solution of their problems.”

Meanwhile, Vice-Minister Lidice Altuve emphasized that the text is “an instrument and a tool to strengthen the People’s Power,” being more necessary and pertinent nowadays, not only for the community members but also for the public officials.

He emphasized that Fundacomunal is a training institution with more than 1,500 promoters with a service vocation and possessing the precise tools expressed in the work, which is not only a method but “a vision of how we see the world” that is useful for the systematization of experiences, the decolonization of how to act in the Communes and how to make decisions collectively.

The activity culminated with the christening of the book by Minister Jorge Arreaza, who ended his speech by emphasizing that the leaders of the Communal Councils are the ones who “show their faces and go out again” to solve the problems derived from the economic blockade.

The book will not only help to approach and deepen the methods and styles of the construction of democracy in the communities throughout the country but also promote the transformation of society based on a new political, democratic, and profound system in all spheres.
