Caracas, August 2, 2023. This Wednesday, the People’s Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, assured that Venezuela’s community men and women are aware of their leading role in the transformation process of the civilization model and creating an alternative that reproduces life.
“For me, the communards know almost everything. They are involved in every priority aspect of the community. The spirit of the commune is generosity, solidarity, and love. I believe that a spirit of communal life runs through our Latin American towns. We have to change the accumulation of material wealth for the accumulation of spiritual and human wealth. I believe that we are going in that direction, and we will put the economy in function of that project because it must go in that direction. It must not continue twisting life. It must go towards humanity. The economy is human and must be in function of the spirit of the people”, he said.
During his participation in the radio program “En clave Comunal,” broadcasted by Radio Nacional de Venezuela, the Minister asserted that the communal councils and communes of the country have become great teachers of the people who are, every day, in a creation process to transform the imposed model.
” Commander Chavez’s call to say commune or nothing is clearer than ever. That is where we must direct the strategic project of Bolivarian socialism. That is the great challenge of the Venezuelan people. It is not easy to change the economic, political, and social model from this part of the world under the influence of North American imperialism, with a subsoil full of oil, gas, gold, and water for planting. Despite the aggressions, there is a people, not only in resistance, but a people building new codes of organization and relationship, of management of means of production and with the accompaniment of its revolution and government”, he said.
According to Minister Jorge Arreaza, Venezuela’s communal project is a need since it represents an alternative to organize the people in another way to guarantee the survival of all humanity.
“We have advanced a lot despite the difficulties. We have to make an effort. We are in a good moment. President Nicolas Maduro has taken up, with force, the communal sphere. He is instructing and pressuring the institutionality, his cabinet, mayors, and governors, to not only listen to the people but plan projects with the people’s power to generate collective welfare. Commander Chavez left the communal council and the commune for us as the fabric to replace and transform reality to replace the fabric of capital with the fabric of life, the community fabric. It is clear that this is our path”, emphasized Arreaza.
