Press Mincomunas. – According to the People’s Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, the Commune is the most perfect government built in Venezuela.
Arreaza indicated during his participation in the first broadcast of the “En clave Comunal” program, aired by Radio Nacional de Venezuela on its news channel, that the communal project in Venezuela is liked closely to the people’s capacity to govern in their territory.
“This new radio space is relevant for everyone because it allows us to promote, strengthen and defend the spirit of the Commune in 21st-century Venezuela. When the conscious people who take charge of their history govern in their territory, they govern for themselves, they always govern in favor of their happiness. The people protect themselves; they are efficient. However, in a democratic revolution such as ours, the co-government with the institutions that have emerged from the revolution is necessary so that everyone together can make their power available to transform reality”, he said.
In this sense, the Minister of Communes reiterated that, in a capitalist world, we must heal the backbone of the Venezuelan economy with a communal economy and the people producing to reproduce life with their means of production, planning, and structure.
“When you live in a Commune, you are happier. It is a key formula for organizing and finding solutions to real problems. The commune is the least imperfect government. The Commune is the path that the liberator Simon Bolivar proposed toward the greatest possible happiness. As Comandante Chavez used to say: it is in the commune that we will build socialism; it is not in any other territory: it is exclusively in the Commune. It is from the Commune where we are going to generate a new type of society, the socialist society”, he highlighted.
Likewise, Arreaza explained that the Commune is the way to stop capitalism, a catastrophic system that brings humanity and several species of flora and fauna to the brink of extinction.
“If the mode of production that we propose has a respectful interaction with nature and among the actors who carry out the social process of work, we are changing the origin, and we can stop repeating the capitalist model. We want to take care of Mother Earth. For that, we must stop exploitation and devastation. Everyone must put themselves for the thing. It must be commune production with a communal distribution and goal. Acting as a network so that, gradually, the hegemony of the new socialist model expands and we leave behind this system of death, capitalism”, he pointed out.
The Minister insisted that the people are the government and we can face political, social, economic, and environmental challenges if the people are committed to this task.
“Power resides in the people. As Enrique Dussel says: Power is service, not domination. We, the rulers, are there to serve the people, not to serve the people. If we achieve that, the coordination of all levels of government is virtuous. We will give life to the communal project as an alternative to the civilization crisis. We Venezuelans are one of the few people in the world who are trying out and experimenting with a new type of society. There are successes and failures, but most of them are advances. It is a historical rehearsal. We have to protect ourselves, and only by organizing ourselves in Communes will we be able to achieve it”, he underlined.
