Barinas, May 27, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – This Saturday, the first Barinas 2023 State Agro-productive Meeting was installed at the Florentino Socialist Productive Technical Center, C.A.
The event counted on the presence of Jorge Arreaza, People’s Power Minister for the Communes and Social Movements; Hipolito Abreu, Minister of Industries and National Production; David Hernandez, President of the National Land Institute (INTI); Alexander Camacho, Mayor of the Alberto Arvelo Torrealba Municipality; as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands; farmers, producers, and people’s power spokespersons.
Minister Arreaza assured that this meeting aims to elaborate the Sowing Plan 2023, 2024, and 2025, articulating farmers and producers of all Barinas state municipalities.
“Only you know what has to be done. You know the reality of each territory and what issues we must prioritize. In the case of the cheese producers of the Arismendi municipality, they must guarantee the communal organization and empower themselves with the means of production, transportation, and commercialization so that they do not depend on intermediaries”.
He stated that if the producers promote the Communal Economic Circuit, the National Government will give them the necessity to finance the purchase of the cellars and thus guarantee the distribution of the cheese in the national territory.
For his part, Minister Hipolito Abreu pointed out that “it is necessary to create a plan to strengthen the currency of the Bolivar, as well as to fine-tune the mechanisms to attend to the issue of livestock and fuel.”
He added there would be a verification plan in Barinas State to verify the companies that are not operating or that present difficulty due to mechanical failures.
Work tables
Laura Laguna, responsible for the productive economy of the PSUV Barinas, explained that in the work tables of this first meeting, the peasants and producers of the territory made relevant contributions to advance the production of the lands.
In this sense, the peasant Leidys Nuñez, from the cereal table, requested permanent training for the producers and to put into operation the laboratories in the municipality.
“We also require fuel since our lands are 25 kilometers away, and we do not have the resources to pay for gasoline.”
Daissi Carrero, from the fish farming table, asked for support to create a Communal Fish Farming Circuit to establish an agreement to directly sell fish farmers the food for breeding and raising of cachamas and financing for fishermen in the state of Barinas.
Similarly, Adriana Molina, a producer from the municipality of Ezequiel Zamora who participated in the species roundtable, pointed out the necessity to develop a training, education, and innovation program for producers of minor species.
“We want to advance in terms of integral management, genetic improvement, alternative feeding and production, commercialization and distribution of the species.”
Likewise, Eudes Perez, from the entrepreneurs’ table, said that the farmers of Barinas are in the best disposition to work and produce together with the national authorities. “We propose to organize open-air markets so that the entrepreneurs can put their products directly in the hands of the consumers and thus avoid the commercialization chain.”
From the Musaceae table, Angel Ruiz pointed out the necessity to create a seed bank, strengthen productive farms, and build a plan for machinery financing.
Finally, Roberto Dugarte, from the table of Communes, requested to promote the 13 laws of the People’s Power and to strengthen the training processes in each Commune, to carry out a registration process and systematization of the productive experiences.
