The CLAP serves 7 million 500 thousand families

Miranda, March 17, 2023 (Presidential Press Office) – During the celebration of the 7th anniversary of the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, pointed out they are currently serving 7 million 500 thousand families through the distribution of food every month.

“CLAP is work, it is a miracle, and it is effort. It is the most complete and miraculous program”, he emphasized, specifying that 95 percent of the nationally produced CLAP food.

He explained that more than 45 thousand CLAPs are consolidated in the national territory from the “Oasis” Food Packaging Center for the CLAPs in Miranda State. Of the total, 73 percent of the leadership is in the hands of women.

“It is the woman at the forefront who assumes the command,” she stressed.

In extending his recognition to the men and women who assumed leadership in their communities, the Dignitary pointed out that “now is that there is life, future, hope and progress for the CLAPs. Now is the time for the good and the best for the CLAPs”.

Despite the onslaught against the CLAPs by the United States (U.S.) government, by sanctioning and, in some cases, imprisoning entrepreneurs who provided services through food packaging centers, the popular organization consolidated itself to increase production and distribution.
