Inauguration of the 1st Venezuelan Recycling and Communal EPS School in Barcelona,Venezuela

Anzoategui, February 22, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – The 1st Venezuelan Recycling and Communal EPS School opened at the Industrial Zone of Barcelona, Anzoategui state. This project will allow us to continue strengthening the entity’s productive axis and raise awareness about recycling as an environmental strategy.

In these spaces, the spokesman of the Cacique Guaicaipuro Commune, Gabriel Cova, informed that 280 manufacturing companies that decided to leave the country after the brutal economic war against the nation used to operate in these spaces.

The workers of the Industrial Zone were left stranded, and the People’s Power recovered the facilities to produce and generate new jobs.

The People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted that this is an experience of communal self-government and co-government in conjunction with the mayors’ and governors’ offices, but the plan is Communal independence.

“There are surprises to come, but we will start with some pilot plans through a computer system with the Banco Bicentenario as a backup, and the resources will go to productive and social reinvestment funds,” he explained.

Arreaza informed that in the next few days, the Vice-Minister of Industries, Tania Ríos, will visit the school to review the operation of the machinery. “Let’s guarantee with a popular conscience all victories.”

The Minister of Ecosocialism, Josué Lorca, informed us about the four machines delivery for the project, valued at 17 thousand dollars, plus all the investment that ranges around 25 thousand dollars. “We have to turn this experience into a pilot experience of the popular economy for the world,” he added.

Capacity for ecosocialism

The mayor of the Bolivar municipality, Sugey Herrera, highlighted the effort of the local men and women of the Luisa Caceres de Arismendi Commune and recalled a problem with waste collection in 2018 solved under the people’s consensus.

“Only the people save the people. Today we see a dream materialized in concrete action. Today, the challenge grows because we must continue generating tools and instruments to transform our spaces. The economic engine in Barcelona is giving results, hand in hand with the People’s Power”, he expressed.

Johangelys Coa, the spokeswoman of the Ezequiel Zamora Commune, suggested framing the subject of recycling for environment conservation in political and social events.

She recalled that last November, at school facilities, they signed an agreement between the three Communes: Cacique Guaicaipuro, Luisa Caceres de Arismendi, and Ezequiel Zamora, “a single communal union, a single work is what we want.”
