Caracas, January 23, 2023 (Presidential Press Office) – The Venezuelan people dismantled the spiral of violence. The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, issued that the right-wing tried to activate again on social networks, claiming that on January 23, 2023, the guarimbas would return during the Great National March against the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the U.S. against Venezuela.
However, despite the scenario, the Head of State emphasized that millions of people mobilized, and this “tremendous demonstration of popular force that took place in the streets of Venezuela” reflects it.
He congratulated the conscious and patriotic people, referring to the deployment in every state of the country and the Venezuelan capital while applauding that peace reigns in Venezuela because “history belongs to us, victory belongs to us.”
“Once again, victory belongs to us, the victory of peace, renewed hope, the victory of big dreams,” he stressed.
The national Dignitary joined the march this afternoon in O’Leary Square, in El Silencio, recalling his words from the People’s Balcony in the Miraflores Palace that marches are its genesis.
“I come from the people. I am here only because of you, the people’s strength and power”. Today “we walk, we embrace, we kiss, we dance for renewed hope,” said the President.
In this regard, President Maduro reminded Venezuelans gathered in front of the People’s Balcony that on a day like today, January 23, 2019, U.S. imperialism tried to impose “a wimp as the so-called interim President of Venezuela. It was January 23, 2019, and here on this balcony, Chávez’s balcony, the people’s balcony, right up here where I told you: We are going to defeat that imperialism.”
It is the “Living History!” said the President while dismissing that news agencies and international channels do not transmit the truths from the Venezuelan streets, but: “we are still here in the streets more united and mobilized than ever.”
He emphasized that January 23 is not only to commemorate 65 years of that historic awakening, the civic-military rebellion of the people against the military dictatorship but to commemorate the victory of the Venezuelan people against Yankee imperialism and its defeated coup d’état.
“Today, the people have marched for a fair cause, and I call on them to remain permanently mobilized against the criminal sanctions, against the criminal blockade. Now we are going for the sanctions, for the blockade, we have only one destiny: The people in the streets conquering the victory against the blockade,” he stressed before thousands of workers, youth, peasants, and representatives of the country’s indigenous movement.
Regarding the People’s Power, he expressed his satisfaction because today, Venezuelans are aware of the way forward, ratifying that this year must be one of effort, of national rebirth, with perseverance, based on the seven strategic lines, which “will be the victory of 2023”.
