Caracas, November 17, 2022 (Press MinComunas) – On Wednesday, at the National Art Gallery in Caracas, the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, as well as former Executive Vice President and former Foreign Minister of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, presented his book “La Alianza de Simon Bolivar. A current logographic reading of the American unity”, within the framework of the 18th International Book Fair of Venezuela (Filven 2022).
Nelson Chávez, a Venezuelan writer, presented the book, explaining that the bibliographic material has the particularity of working on the discourse on continental integration, a unionist speech; known by the continental community since the first conclave of 1824 to the Amphictyonic Congress of Panama by the Liberator Simon Bolivar. “In this book, there is a bet on the strong, spiritual idea. To think about the future from the present.”
He affirmed that Simon “Samuel Robinson” Rodriguez, who next year will celebrate the 200th anniversary of his return to our America, is recovered by Commander Hugo Chavez in all his dimensions and depth. But the author of the book is the one who restores the strength of Robinson’s logography. “Jorge Arreaza is the one who dares to use logography or the painting of thought to make communication have another way of not getting lost, another more powerful way of arriving.”
“In the book, the logograms have the shape of one thought. A logogram can contain a 200-page book in one page and affects the sensibility of those who read it so that the idea remains as a feeling in the soul, in the heart,” he said.
“It was an idea I had. From the pedagogical style of writing, from those drawings of the ideas that Simon Rodriguez knew how to capture. How 200 years later, I could capture today’s ideas of this moment. I began to make attempts until I reached this book. It is a tribute to Bolivar and Chavez because the unity of our peoples, the unity of our America, is a necessity of yesterday, of today. It must stop being a necessity in the coming years to become a reality,” the Minister for the Communes expressed at the beginning of his book presentation.
He defined the book, published by the publishing house El Perro y La Rana, as an “invention,” in which he wanted to take the technique to communicate his ideas from the great master Simon Rodriguez. “We wanted this to be a tribute to the dreams and the people of Bolivar, Chavez, but as an equal or greater tribute to Simon Rodriguez. Because I will be happy if this experiment works if this helps the kids, community members, students, and older people to understand the Liberator Simon Bolivar’s project using the methods of Simon Rodriguez. We will have another way to continue transmitting ideas in our hands,” expressed Arreaza.
The executive secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (Alba-TCP), Sacha Llorenti, attended the presentation. He told the audience how he met Jorge Arreaza on February 26, 2019, in the Hall of the Security Council of the United Nations (UN). He recalled “clearly the face of Elliott Abrams (representative of the United States) when he explained that the attempted invasion and coup d’état to Venezuela had failed. He also mentioned the entire offensive against the Bolivarian Revolution and that the empire had had its second great defeat since the fall of the Berlin Wall. The first great defeat was in Syria, and the second great geopolitical defeat of the US was in Venezuela”.
He pointed out that he read Arreaza’s book and considers it an unthinkable work in the current times. “One of the greatest privileges that life has given me is to accompany the work of that legacy of Chávez and Fidel, which is the Alba-TCP. As the book says, integration is a path towards unity, and Alba is at the forefront of this Latin American and Caribbean unity”, he affirmed.
