Caracas, October 23, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – According to Puerto Rican sociologist Ramon Grosfoguel, if a new civilizational system is to be created, we must address all hierarchies of domination: racial, gender, sexual, linguistic, pedagogical, ecological, epistemic; otherwise, the empire will sneak in again through the back door.
“Our critique of the cartography of the “Westernocentric/ Christ-centric capitalist/Capitalist/Patriarchal modern/colonial patriarchal world system” power does not seek to be merely theoretical and academic. Being anti-systemic implies taking into account the plurality of hierarchies of domination in organizing our struggles against the modern civilization of death,” explained the Puerto Rican thinker.
According to Professor Ramon Grosfoguel, we can no longer continue to reproduce the worldview of 20th-century socialism, “which conceived the struggle against imperialism as a struggle against the economic system of domination and exploitation.”
“In the 21st century, we must fight in an anti-systemic way against an entire civilization of death. Therefore, if we do not have clarity about the cartography of the power of modernity, we will be lost,” warned the decolonial master.
