The dignitary reminded that the first step of socialism in the territorial sphere is direct democracy, “empowering the people, giving power to the people. The power of consciousness, education, projects, resources, action, problem-solving”.
In this regard, the People’s Power Minister for the Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, endorsed this achievement, pointing out that true democracy is exercised in the Communes, “here are the spokesmen and spokeswomen that truly exist in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
Socialism in the territorial sphere
President Maduro urged to build socialism in the territorial, organizational, and political spheres to strengthen the capacity for announcement, the permanent debate in education, and political, ideological, and cultural formation.
The spokeswoman of the “Carlos Escarra” Commune in the Mario Briceño Iragorry municipality of Aragua, Alejandra Borges Castillo, explained to the President that she learns every day. “We did not know of any of this. However, today, you can ask us: What is this for? Well, this is a connector for the arvidal, what we always call it – Look, the wire broke – No, it is not the wire, it is the line, which has its name, and it is called arvidal”, she said.
In this sense, the President applauded the growth of the Communes and called on his entire team to continue working for and with the people, reaching all communities to provide timely solutions.
“We must solve them with the proposals that come from the grassroots, from the street leadership, listening to the people,” emphasized the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution.
