The Perseu Abramo Foundation of Brazil shows interest in community organizations in Venezuela

Caracas, October 4, 2023 (Press Mincomunas) – During a several-day visit to Venezuela, People’s Power Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Jorge Arreaza, received the president of the Perseu Abramo Foundation of Brazil, Paulo Okamotto, for a fruitful dialogue on various topics of interest for both countries.

Gathered at the ministerial building, Okamotto and Arreaza talked about the significance of the permanent training of the people for militancy and political struggle, especially in times of imperialist aggression.

The president of the Perseu Abramo Foundation expressed his interest in the communal organization in Venezuela reflected in the Socially Owned Enterprises, whether direct or indirect.

As a sign of this, he expressed his intention to return to Venezuela to visit Communes and Communal Councils in the country to have a better understanding of the Venezuelan community organization process.

The Perseu Abramo Foundation was created by the Workers’ Party by the decision of its National Directorate on May 5, 1996. Among its objectives are research, doctrinal elaboration, and contribution to the educational policies of the members of the Workers’ Party and the Brazilian working people.

While in Venezuela, its president signed a cooperation agreement this Tuesday with the Simon Bolivar Institute for Peace and Solidarity among Peoples (ISB), through which they have proposed to strengthen the training activities developed by both institutions.
