Barinas, July 27, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – Ricardo Patiño, Foreign Minister during the Rafael Correa administration, led a delegation from Ecuador to see the work carried out in the Leander and Ezequiel Zamora Communal Indirect Social Property Companies in Socopo, Sucre municipality, Barinas state, to exchange experiences in communal production between the two sister nations.
During the tour, the former Foreign Minister, accompanied by Hernán Vargas, Vice Minister of Communal Economy, acknowledged the extraordinary production model developed in this corn processing plant. “This communal distribution model is not only the work of a Commune to produce something, but it is a work that connects with the industrial activity of a country.”
“A production model under development, in this case, a Social Property Company that produces corn to turn it into flour and that becomes a complete chain that generates a very virtuous circle where there are no levels of exploitation, but there are levels of complementation and distribution of the wealth of a Commune model that generates much welfare among the Venezuelan working comrades,” Patiño added.
The EPSIC Leander currently produces between 500 and 600 tons per month, while the EPSIC Ezequiel Zamora now has better equipment for mechanization, roads, and transportation; all this to strengthen the Communal Economic Circuit of the country thanks to the joint effort of the agricultural workers.
