Caracas, June 22, 2023 (Presidential Press Office) – The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, announced the creation of a new Special Financing Fund for the country’s small producers, which stems from the proposals of farmers and producers’ assemblies.
During the productive work day dedicated to showing the progress of the agricultural sector at the national level at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, he pointed out that the purpose of this decision is “to give them all the support and increase the financial support, this is vital among many other things we must do.”
In the middle of a satellite contact with Portuguesa State, he also informed that he ordered the Venezuelan Foreign Trade Corporation (Corpovex), in charge of public purchases, to “substantially increase the purchase of larger volumes of crops from small and small producers of the country through the Plan Campesino which is already working,” arguing that “it has to multiply, to grow.”
It implies – added the President – to solve “the logistic issues that arise in the field (…) that always have a solution and to produce the food that must reach the Venezuelan household table”.
He urged the Executive Vice-President, Delcy Rodriguez, to supervise this order given to Corpovex after announcing measures in this matter.
