Caracas, November 23, 2023 (Mincomunas Press) – The People’s Power Ministry for Communes and Social Movements, in compliance with the instructions given by President Nicolas Maduro on the exercise of public purchases, coordinated with 15 Communal Economic Circuits (CEC), to acquire food products produced in their territories.
Last October 20, during the 11° Anniversary of the “Golpe de Timon” (Rudder Around), the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, from the Poliedro of Caracas, urged the Council of Vice Presidents to establish an efficient mechanism to incorporate the production of the communes in the National Program of Public Purchases.
In this context, the Vice-Minister of Communal Economy, Hernan Vargas, stated, “The Ministry organized the public purchase process with 15 Communal Economic Circuits that have been guaranteeing certified and quality production under the economy model for life”.
He explained that through these public purchases from organized producers of the Communal Economic Circuits, the distribution of 36 tons of quality national production is guaranteed.
The Vice-Minister highlighted that “thanks to this program, a total of 4 thousand workers of the People’s Power Ministry for the Communes and Social Movements and the attached entities received a food basket with food products of the “Hecho en Comuna” (Made in Commune) brand.”
He said the baskets contain 14 food items: beans, lentils, milk, flour, sardines, chocolate, oil, coffee, pasta, rice, and brown sugar cane.
“We are moving forward, and our teams working at the service of the People’s Power to promote a new economic, democratic, political, social, and cultural model, are experiencing the results of the accumulation process of efforts of the people.”
Vargas pointed out that from this moment on, the articulated work between the Communes, the transportation, collection, and distribution systems, will reach the families of public servants.
